ELIGIBILITY: As per the DWGC Bylaws for all major tournaments, players just play in a minimum of four rounds with DWGC within the previous three months prior to the month the tournament is held. Eligibility to be confirmed by tournament chair.

Tournament entry is limited to the first 24 players to sign up and pay the entry fee. If 8 more players sign up, the field will increased to 32 players. If the number of players signed up does not reach 32, players will be placed on a waiting list.

FORMAT: The tournament is match play. The flights will be determined by handicap.  The “seeding” will be random within each flight. Two nine hole matches will be played each round, with one round played each of the two days of the tournament.

PAIRINGS: First and second round matches will be played in the same foursome.  You will play holes one through nine against one person in your foursome.  After 9 holes you will play holes 10-18 against another person in your foursome.  The second day of the HC you will play a randomly selected player from the two other players in your new foursome for day two.  Your scorecard/s will tell you who you play for each 9 holes.

STROKE ALLOCATION: The lower handicap player in each match receives No strokes.  The difference in handicap between the two players will be given on the lowest handicap holes in order of difficulty.

POSTING: If a hole or putt is conceded the player shall record for handicap purposes the score the player most likely would have made, not to exceed the player’s equitable stroke.  Tournament organizers or DWGC Tournament Chair will post scores.

SCORING: Players play to half their course handicap on each nine hole round. A player will either win/lose/or tie each hole: i.e.  +1/ 0/ or ½ point.  After the 9-hole match the points will be added (must total 9) and those numbers will be recorded on the tournament scoreboard.  Scores (points) will accumulate for all 4 matches.  A player with a bye will receive ½ the total points for that match, i.e. 4½.

In match play there are no provisions to play two balls should a rules question arise.  In match play you must play on as you see fit and your fellow competitor must make a claim if she disagrees before teeing off on the next hole.

SCORECARDS: Official scorecards will be distributed to players prior to your tee time.  Be sure to double-check with your opponent the results of each nine-hole match.  At conclusion of play, check scorecards hole-by-hole and point-by-point with your opponent before reporting the outcome of the match.

All four players must report and turn in both scorecards to the tournament organizers in the snack bar area. At that time, the players must report any claims. No results will be accepted until all four players report.

Please record all birdies, chip-ins, sandies, eagles, etc. in the blue binder following each round.

START TIMES: Tee times will be sent out in a general email at least two days prior to the first day of the tournament. All pairings will start from the first hole.
